What We Do?

  • ACCR supports and advances arts and cultural activities in the greater Fredericksburg region, including the counties of Caroline, Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George, and the City

  • ACCR fosters cooperation and mutual support among arts and cultural groups in the central Rappahannock region.

  • ACCR offers programs and services to assist arts and cultural groups in bringing quality arts experiences to the region.

  • ACCR strengthens communications about the arts throughout the region.

  • ACCR helps position the arts as vital components in the region’s economic development, cultural tourism, education and community life.

Long-range:

The ACCR is working on a five-year plan, which includes:

  • Convening arts and cultural groups to identify mutual goals and to define ways to work together to accomplish them

  • Sponsoring annual grants writing workshops for teachers in the arts, in cooperation with the Virginia Commission for the Arts

  • Sharing communications with local audiences from the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the Virginia Association of Local Arts Agencies, Americans for the Arts, National Assembly of Local Arts Agencies, Virginia Tourism Corporation, National Governors Association, and other sources for arts-related news and information

  • Establishing a communications network to connect regularly and systematically with all those interested in discussing topics relating to the region’s arts and culture

  • Working cooperatively with the Fredericksburg Arts Commission on shared interests

  • Cultivating membership throughout the region to better further ACCR’s mission

  • Securing funding to sustain ACCR’s programs, including grant writing; an annual fundraising event; local, state and national funding sources, membership, and other activities

  • Working with the Virginia Commission for the Arts to involve the region’s groups with statewide programs and initiatives

  • Participating in the arts and cultural conversation on a regional, statewide, and national level.
